Eye care professionals specialize in understanding how the human eye really works, as well as diseases and conditions that affect your vision—many of which do not always have obvious symptoms. Eye doctors know how age and risk factors affect vision over time for young and old, and they understand the benefits and features of corrective lenses, both as eyeglass lenses and contact lenses.
Our optometrist take the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listen to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing and treating potential vision problems.
Meet our doctor:
Dr. LaSheta P. David grew up in the Queen City of Charlotte, NC. Having poor vision as a young child and seeing the difference glasses and contacts made, Dr. David developed an interest in optometry at North Carolina State University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology.
After completing her undergraduate studies, Dr. David decided to move to the large, urban city of Philadelphia, PA. At the end of 4 years of intense studies she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Science in 1993 and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1996.
Immediately, Dr. David moved back to her southern roots in the Piedmont area. For 16 years, she has practiced in various modalities. In 2008 Dr. David opened her private practice in Afton Ridge Shopping Center in Concord, NC. She is active in the community and regularly provides vision screenings at local health fairs, speaks at career fairs, as well as supporting the Prevent Blindness of NC program. In her spare time Dr. David loves to spend quality time in and outdoors with her husband, Terendius and her two children Taylor and Terendius, Jr. If she can find time in her busy schedule, she will enjoy a great book.
